.. are one of the reasons for which our pipes are so mild to smoke.
As a high surface material, activated carbon absorbs the majority of condensates and harmful substances created within every combustion – therefore, the filter should be changed frequently.
No worries, all the substances you‘re looking for are going to pass through.
How often you have to change filters depends on numerous factors such as what, how much, how and even where you smoke, making it hard to generalise.
Rule of thumb: When the smoke gets scratchy again – change it!
- Clean the wooden parts with alcohol or plant oil. Never with water! Use the included cleaning tool for gently scraping the chamber and poking through air channels.
- Metal parts can be soaked, rinsed and cleaned with water, soap, alcohol, ..
- Glass parts can go into the dishwasher and be treated like regular glassware.
- Wood loves oil! Show your piece some love and gently rub it with some (preferably organic) plant oil such as olive or linseed oil (works best), nut oils, sunflower oil, ..
